Live the Mystery Scriptural
Rosary.
Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious,
Luminous Mysteries. Scripture reflections on
each bead of the Rosary for each mystery.
This delightful little book
contains a brief verse of Scripture prior to
each Hail Mary which, taken together, help the
faithful to meditate on the mystery. The Gospel
story of the Wedding Feast at Cana, for example,
is broken down verse by verse to assist in
meditation on this second Luminous Mystery. The
Annunciation to Mary is broken down, verse by
verse, to assist in meditating on the first
Joyful Mystery. Gospel passages on the carrying
of the cross are enunciated, verse by verse, to
assist in meditating on the Fourth Sorrowful
Mystery. The more difficult mysteries such as
the Assumption of Mary and the Crowing of Mary
as Queen of Heaven are illustrated with verses
from Revelations, Psalms, Proverbs, and the Song
of Songs.
Here is an example of how
Scripture illustrates each mystery:
The First Mystery of Light:
Jesus' Baptism in the Jordan
Our Father: "And this was his
message, 'After me will come one more powerful
than I." (Mark 1:7)
Hail Mary: "The thongs of whose
sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and
untie." (Mark 1:7)
Hail Mary: "I baptize you with
water, but He will baptize you with the Holy
Spirit." (Mark 1:8)
Hail Mary: "The next day John
saw Jesus coming toward him and said, 'Look, the
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the
world!'" (John 1:29)
Hail Mary: "At that time Jesus
came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized
by John in the Jordan." (Mark 1:9)
Hail Mary: "'I myself did not
know Him, but the reason I came baptizing with
water was that He might be revealed to Israel.'"
(John 1:31)
Hail Mary: "As Jesus was coming
up out of the water, John saw heaven being torn
open and the Spirit descending on Him like a
dove." (Mark 1:10)
Hail Mary: "The man on whom you
see the Spirit come down and remain is He who
will baptize with the Holy Spirit." (John 1:33)
Hail Mary: "And a voice came
from heaven: 'You are My Son, whom I love; with
You I am well pleased.'" (Mark 1:11)
Hail Mary: "At once the Spirit
sent Him out into the desert." (Mark 1:12)
