Saint John Baptist de la Salle
It is not a sin to possess riches; but it is sinful
to set our heart upon them, to seek them with
eagerness, to place our happiness in them, or to
employ unlawful means to acquire them.
--St. John Baptist de la Salle
O my Saviour, who am I, that Thou shouldst have so
long to awaited my repentance!
--St. Margaret Mary Alacoque
There are so many religions and each one has its
different ways of following God. I follow
Jesus is my God,
Jesus is my Spouse,
Jesus is my Life,
Jesus is my only Love,
Jesus is my All in All,
Jesus is my Everything.
Because of this I am never afraid.
--Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
Almighty, most holy, most high and supreme
All good, the highest good, wholly good,
Who alone are good:
To You we render all praise, all glory, all grace,
All honor, all blessing, and everything that is
So be it! So be it! Amen!
--St. Francis of Assisi
You belong either wholly to the world or wholly to
God. You cannot please both God and the world at the
same time. They are utterly opposed to each other in
their thoughts, their desires, their actions.
--St. John Vianney
This world and that to come are two enemies.
We cannot therefore be friends to both; but we must
resolve which we would forsake and which we would
Riches are not forbidden, but the pride of them is.

Penance means conversion. The Confraternity of
Penitents is a world wide private Catholic
association of the faithful, completely loyal to our
Pope and the Magisterium.
Our Rule of Life has been reviewed by our bishop and
recognized in these words: "this Rule does not
contain anything contrary to our faith; therefore it
may be safely practiced privately by you or by
anyone inclined to do so. . . . His Excellency
is appreciative of your efforts to live and promote
Franciscan spirituality and especially promote the
neglected practice of penance and he wishes you
success" (January 30, 1998).
Members of the Confraternity of Penitents live this
Rule in their own homes, devoted to prayer, penance,
fasting, conversion, and works of mercy modeled on
Jesus Christ and inspired by the lives and teachings
and all the saints, most especially Mary, the Mother
of God, who lived a life of true penance
(conversion) in perfect union with our Lord.
May Our Lady and all the saints intercede for all
who wish to embrace a life of penance, anywhere in
the world, so that the grace of God will assist them
to obtain every virtue necessary for a life of
holiness and surrender to the Will of God! Amen.
PRAYER OF PENITENTS

of my mind, give me right faith, a firm hope and
perfect charity, so that I may always and in all
things act according to Your Holy Will. Amen."
